In November of 2021, I successfully overcame a challenging nine-month battle with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I was reminded that I am here and able to continue pursuing my dreams thanks to the amount of care and support I was given, the level of expertise that guided every decision, and the swift action taken by the medical professionals that ensured I triumphed against my ‘Goliath’.
This year I intend to show my appreciation and return the favour by organizing a 30 for 30 run. I am celebrating my 30th birthday in July by participating in a fundraising run to help purchase life-saving hospital equipment for the Oncology departments at Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital. I will be doing a roundtrip run/ walk between these two hospitals, which happens to be a distance of approximately 30 km.
As part of this fundraiser run, you can also contribute by purchasing any DEAFINE merchandise where a percentage of the proceeds from the sale will also be contributed to this charity. Be sure to check out our story and our journey on the many platforms like www.deafine.ca and Instagram @deafineofficial.
By donating, you are helping to put vital equipment and technology into the hands of Osler's physicians, staff and volunteers who provide healing and comfort to our families, friends and neighbours, when needed most.
In Ontario, 100% of hospital equipment must be funded by the community. A donation—big or small—will help me reach my goal of raising $3,000 for Osler’s Oncology wards.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you would like to make your donations offline and I can help guide you through that process. If you would like to contribute in another manner or join the 30 km journey, feel free to reach out on Instagram @d_sartor and learn how to participate.
With your support today, a donation from you could help me to reach my fundraising goal!
